Community Hub

Our new Community Hub represents the future of Shaftes, a future where every pillar of our community is embraced.

By being there for each other...

We can empower our community, and support and enhance the lives of our local residents. When we open our doors at the Club, we are also opening the doors to a brighter future for all.

Everyone is welcome here at Shaftes, and we run regular coffee mornings and community lunches to bring our community together, regardless of age.

Shaftes is for everybody. If you feel lonely or isolated, then why not come along to our Monday Club where you can enjoy a game of bingo over a spot of lunch. No booking is required, and the session costs just £1.00.

We also hold weekly Wellbeing Sessions, where attendees can be pampered, have their nails done and receive a foot or shoulder massage, in the comfort and safety of our incredible facilities.
"Amazing club and amazing staff, you all do so much for the community."

At our Social Supermarket...

At our Social Supermarket, we have Community Workers on-site to provide support on everything from food parcels for those in need, to benefits and advice on health and wellbeing. Thanks to the support we provide, 94% of the parents we surveyed reported that they know where to turn if they need more or different support for their families.

Our Social Supermarket is not means tested, and so everyone can benefit from our reduced-price essentials.

Shaftes is also one of Wirral Council’s Family Satellite Hubs, where you can be signposted to the services and help you and your family may need.

Don’t struggle or suffer in silence...contact Shaftes today.

“Fab community spirited club. You all work so hard, well done.”

Our Community Garden,
Allotment & Pavilion

At Shaftes, we love the outdoors and the positive impact being outside can have on our health and wellbeing.

Our allotments are filled with fruit and vegetables and are expertly maintained by our incredible team of volunteers who also care for our beautiful community garden.

Our brand new, purpose-built pavilion, which opened in 2024, sets us apart from other locations on the Wirral, as we aim to enhance lives and empower our community with our state-of-the-art facility.

The new pavilion is available for use to our members as well as for private hire for community and corporate events, and is fully equipped with a baby change area, accessible toilets and football changing facilities.

The new pavilion was funded by the Football Foundation as well as other local charities and organisations, for the benefit of our service users and wider community.
“”Thanks for the fun and friendships made.””
